Meditation for Facing Your Narcissistic Ex or Abuser Again
Aug 18, 2026Sometimes it starts before you even see his name — a calendar reminder, a mutual event, an email that says you'll need to coordinate. Your body reacts before your mind has caught up, tightening in ways that feel almost automatic. If you've noticed this happening, it's not a sign that you haven't healed enough. It's a common, protective response after difficult experiences.
This meditation was built for that specific bracing — the anticipatory dread that shows up before an interaction with someone who caused you harm. It won't make the interaction disappear or magically make him different. What it offers is a way to soften the physical tension enough that you can walk in from a steadier place, carry yourself with the dignity that's yours regardless of what he does, and come out the other side still fully you.
You are allowed to prepare for hard interactions. Preparing isn't weakness — it's wisdom, built from experience you didn't ask for.
